LinkedIn profile rental in Bangladesh: how you earn and get paid

Bangladesh Bank's July 2026 circular for freelancers decides how money could reach you here, so read its foreign exchange rules before you apply to earn from your existing LinkedIn profile.

Check whether your profile fits

LinkedIn’s User Agreement prohibits this directly. Its Don’ts (section 8.2) bar members from renting, leasing or otherwise monetising access to the service, and from using another member’s account, including by sharing log-in credentials or copying cookies. LinkedIn may restrict, suspend or permanently close an account it believes is shared, without warning. Read the full risk page before you apply.

The short answer

Under Bangladesh Bank's July 2026 freelancer circular, payment would in practice reach you as a USD wire that your authorised dealer bank credits, if you apply and are accepted. PayPal does not list Bangladesh, and Bangladesh Bank bars dealing in virtual assets, so do not choose stablecoin. Filing with the NBR is now online for most individuals. LinkedIn's User Agreement still prohibits renting account access, whatever the local banking rules allow.

How the money reaches you in Bangladesh

FEPD-1 Circular No. 22 of 22 July 2026 governs your fee once it reaches your bank, restated in the 30 July consolidated circular. Payment arrives in USD, daily from the day your campaign goes live. Your bank then checks electronic evidence, credits taka, and may hold an eligible share in foreign currency.

MethodStatusWhat to know
PayPalNot availableBangladesh is not on PayPal's country list, and we found no PayPal announcement that residents can now receive. The circular does let banks handle gateway receipts of up to USD 10,000 per transaction, but that does not create a PayPal account for you. Source
WiseLimitedWise's BDT guide lists taka to any bank account, bKash or Nagad, up to 995,000 BDT a transfer to banks and 250,000 BDT a day and 450,000 BDT a month to wallets. But the same guide says you can't send business transfers to BDT, and a fee from a company is likely to count as one, so do not plan on this route, and ask us first. Its 2.5% cash incentive is for Bangladeshi nationals working abroad, so do not count on it. Source
Direct bank transferWorksA USD wire to your own account at an authorised dealer, under a circular written for services in non-physical form, such as ICT, BPO and online professional services. Up to USD 20,000 can be credited without Form-C, on emails, contracts, platform statements or similar records, and an online Form-C (ICT) is needed above that. The bank must also satisfy itself about your capability and profile consistency, so be ready to explain accurately what you are paid for. Source
Stablecoin (USDT/USDC)Not availableDo not choose this. FE Circular No. 24 of 15 September 2022 says transactions in, from or to Bangladesh for obtaining virtual assets are not permitted and tells all individuals in Bangladesh to refrain. The Business Standard reported that seven years in prison, a fine or both can apply under section 23(1) of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act 1947. The July 2026 circular repeats that keeping proceeds abroad in virtual assets is a violation. Source

Settle your retention quota with the bank at the start. The circular allows up to 50% of net earnings in foreign currency for software, data entry and other ICT-related services, and up to 30% for other legitimate services, with the rest converted to taka. Which group hosting outreach falls in is for your bank to judge on the facts. The circular also treats keeping export proceeds abroad in any form, including foreign accounts, as a violation of that Act, apart from permitted notional or merchant accounts, so do not park the money overseas. Proceeds follow the time limit for goods exports, which the consolidated circular puts at four months.

Tax and declaring the income

Filing changed in 2026. PwC's guide, reviewed on 31 July 2026, says NBR e-filing became mandatory on 28 June 2026, with exemptions for groups such as taxpayers aged 65 or over and Bangladeshis living abroad, and that registering needs your TIN and a biometric-verified mobile number. The income year runs from 1 July to 30 June.

Timing works in windows, on the same PwC summary. Filing from 1 July to 30 September earns a 5% rebate on your tax liability, capped at BDT 25,000. From 1 October to 31 December there is neither rebate nor surcharge. From 1 January to 31 March you add 2%, minimum BDT 3,000, and from 1 April to 30 June 5%, minimum BDT 5,000. First-time filers have until 30 June. Check NBR for your year before relying on these.

The circular also tells banks to ensure deduction and payment of taxes, if applicable, so ask yours what it will deduct. Bangladesh Bank's circular list shows two 2023 letters worth raising: FEPD Circular Letter No. 14 of 27 September, on tax deducted at source from inward remittances for services, and No. 15 of 1 October, on non-deduction of tax at source from IT freelancing income. We have read only the listed titles, not the letters, and neither may reach this income, so ask your bank and a tax adviser in Bangladesh whether the services deduction or the IT freelancing non-deduction applies to you.

  • Final tax is due by the filing date, and PwC says it can be paid electronically through designated banks or mobile payment apps using an A-challan.
  • Keep the evidence your bank relied on. Our records checklist covers the rest.

This is general information, not tax advice. Rules change; confirm your position with a local tax adviser.

Rule 17 for government staff and the Personal Data Protection Act 2026 to check

For government servants this is a hard stop. Rule 17(1) of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules 1979, as The Daily Star quotes it, says none may engage in any trade or undertake any employment or work other than official duties without the government's previous sanction. Get that in writing or do not apply. In a private job, read your contract for exclusivity and outside-work clauses.

Securiti reports that Parliament replaced the 2025 ordinance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2026 (Law 63 of 2026) in April. Its summary says personal data may be processed only with consent or on other specified grounds, its definition of a data fiduciary includes a person who authorises another to process data, and the regulator it names is the National Data Management Authority. Your inbox holds other people's messages, so letting a team in may bring you closer to that definition than you expect. We could not find a commencement date or an official English text, so ask a lawyer if you hold client or patient data.

How much demand is there for profiles from Bangladesh?

Expect a narrow market. Most companies buying this outreach sell into the US, and a Dhaka or Chattogram profile is seldom in that search. A realistic match is a company trying to reach decision-makers inside Bangladesh, or one that wants your existing contacts abroad, and it may take a long time to appear.

  • More likely: senior staff with connections among directors and purchasing heads at Bangladeshi firms.
  • Less likely: a young network of classmates and other freelancers.

We do not publish a list of eligible countries, and living in Bangladesh neither qualifies nor disqualifies you. A specialist reviews the actual profile. If you want a straight answer first, ask in the notes box when you apply.

How it works

  1. Apply, free. Industry, network size, commitment length. No documents, no fee.
  2. Human review. A specialist sends one monthly figure, normally within three business days, or says the profile is not a fit.
  3. You approve each campaign. Target lists and message templates come to you first, and your blocklist is set on an onboarding call.
  4. Daily payment from the day your campaign goes live, with a monthly log of everything sent. Pause any time; after the three-month initial term, 30 days' notice ends it.

The risk, in plain terms

LinkedIn’s User Agreement prohibits this directly. Its Don’ts (section 8.2) bar members from renting, leasing or otherwise monetising access to the service, and from using another member’s account, including by sharing log-in credentials or copying cookies. LinkedIn may restrict, suspend or permanently close an account it believes is shared, without warning.

That risk stays with you, and we do not indemnify you against losing the account or its connections. This is why we would not call it risk-free passive income, whatever other sites say. Read our safety and risk page and sections 4 and 5 of our Terms.

Businesses in Bangladesh: renting LinkedIn accounts for outreach

Bangladesh's Personal Data Protection Act 2026 is the rule to read for B2B outreach: Securiti summarises it as requiring consent or another specified ground for processing personal data, and that may reach the contact lists you build. DLA Piper's guide says there is no regulation on electronic marketing, but that page was last modified in January 2024 and predates the new data law, so treat it as a starting point. Renting the accounts is a separate problem, because LinkedIn prohibits it.

Our page for businesses explains how account-based outreach is run and what it costs to think through.

Questions people in Bangladesh ask

Can I get LinkedIn rental money through PayPal in Bangladesh?

No. Bangladesh is not on PayPal's country list, and we found no announcement that residents can now receive through it. A USD wire to your own bank account is the realistic route.

Is USDT allowed for freelancers in Bangladesh?

No. Bangladesh Bank's FE Circular No. 24 of 2022 tells all individuals in Bangladesh to refrain from dealing in virtual assets, and its July 2026 freelancer circular treats holding proceeds abroad in them as a violation. Pick a bank route instead.

How much can a freelancer receive without Form-C in Bangladesh?

Up to USD 20,000 or equivalent, under Bangladesh Bank's circular of 22 July 2026. Above that the bank needs an online Form-C (ICT). It still checks your electronic evidence in both cases.

Can I receive LinkedIn rental income on bKash or Nagad?

Do not plan on it. Wise lists limits of 250,000 BDT a day and 450,000 BDT a month for those wallets, but it also says it cannot send business transfers to BDT, and a fee from a company is likely to count as one. Ask us first, and treat a wire to your own bank account as the realistic route.

Can LinkedIn rental be passive income in Bangladesh?

Not entirely, because Bangladesh Bank's July 2026 circular makes your bank check the money. It must satisfy itself about your capability and profile consistency, so be ready to explain accurately what you are paid for, and you still file with the NBR. You also approve lists and templates, and LinkedIn can restrict or close the account.
