How Professionals Get Paid: Payout Methods Compared

Getting paid should be the boring part. Choosing the wrong method quietly costs a meaningful share of your monthly payment, so it is worth ten minutes of attention up front.

The four options

PayPal

Speed: Same day, usually within hours. Cost: Highest of the four. Cross-border fees plus a currency conversion spread on top. Reliability: Good, with one caveat — PayPal freezes accounts occasionally and resolution is slow.

Best if you already use PayPal actively and value speed over cost.

Wise

Speed: One to two business days. Cost: Lowest for most international transfers. Transparent fee, mid-market exchange rate. Reliability: Strong. Built specifically for cross-border payments.

Best for most people receiving international payments. If you do not have an account and you are outside the US, this is usually the right default.

Direct bank transfer

Speed: Two to five business days. Cost: Varies enormously. Your bank sets the exchange rate and often adds a receiving fee. Frequently the most expensive option once the spread is included. Reliability: Very high. Money arrives in the account you already use.

Best if your bank has genuinely competitive international rates, or you simply prefer everything in one place.

Stablecoin (USDT / USDC)

Speed: Minutes. Cost: Network fee only — typically negligible on efficient chains. Reliability: High technically. The risk is operational: send to the wrong address or wrong network and the money is gone permanently.

Best if you are already comfortable with crypto. If you are not, choose something else — the fee saving is not worth learning under time pressure.

What actually costs you money

Two things, and most people only notice the first.

The visible fee is what the provider tells you. This is the number everyone compares.

The exchange rate spread is the difference between the real mid-market rate and the rate you are given. This is usually larger than the visible fee and is not disclosed as a fee at all.

A transfer advertising a low fixed fee can cost more overall than one with a higher fee and an honest rate. Check the amount that actually lands in your account, not the fee.

Practical recommendations

  • Outside the US, receiving USD: Wise, almost always.
  • In the US: direct bank transfer, since there is no conversion involved.
  • Need it immediately: PayPal, accepting the cost.
  • Already hold crypto: stablecoin, with the address triple-checked.

How payment works here

Payment is monthly, on the same date each month, in USD. Your first payment arrives 30 days after your campaign goes live. The full process is set out on how renting your LinkedIn account works.

If a campaign is paused for reasons on our side, you are still paid in full for that month.

You never pay us anything — no application fee, no setup fee, no deductions. If anyone claiming to represent us asks you for money, it is not us. More on spotting that in ten questions to ask before renting your profile.

Tax

Payments are income. We do not withhold tax, and how it is treated depends entirely on where you live and your circumstances.

Keep a record of what you receive each month. If the amounts are meaningful, speak to an accountant before the tax year ends rather than after. We are not qualified to advise on this and will not pretend otherwise.

Changing later

You can switch payout methods between months. Tell us before the payment date and the next one goes out the new way.
